The nose is very fruity and slightly ashy, it offers aromas of crisp red fruits and black fruits, chocolate and cinnamon. In the mouth, the juice is supple, slightly woody, the tannins are fine and the finish is liquorice-like. A fresh and immediate wine that can be drunk now or left in the cellar for a few extra years.
(Tasting date : July 2019)
The Domain GALLETY red wine is made from about forty years old Grenache and Syrah vines. The plots from which the grapes come are located on a soil consisting of coarse alluvium dating from the Quaternary : more precisely, these alluviums were formed during the Würmian glaciation period (-60,000 years) and consist of sands, coarse gravel and pebbles that are particularly suitable for Grenache.
For this vintage, yields are limited to 35 hl/ha and the blend consists of half Grenache and half Syrah. The grapes are manually harvested in boxes so that their integrity is respected.
Each varietal vine and each plot are vinified separately, alcoholic and malolactic fermentations are carried out with native microorganisms (yeasts and native bacteria) in concrete vats. The must is then aged in old oak barrels (no aromatic marking) for 12 to 15 months. This wine can be drunk in its youth or kept in the cellar for ten years.
In his youth, we recommend decanting it 1 hour before serving.
