The Pomerol region, one of the smallest wine-growing regions in Bordeaux, is totally flat. Not a valley or even a small hill on the horizon. But it can boast of having prestigious names like Pétrus, or La Conseillante. It is also the place where the yield is one of the lowest per hectare.
The particularity of Pomerol comes from its terroir: the soils of the plateau are mainly composed of clay, which gives the wine its elegant roundness, and its subsoil contains the famous "crasse de fer" to which the wine owes its truffle aroma after years of cellar ageing.
The great Pomerols are modern red wines, already promising in their youth, and which have the same ageing potential as the good Médoc's.
- Nose: spicy. Aromas of liquorice, black pepper, coffee, blackberry and blackcurrant, with a slightly floral touch.

OUR OPINION: spicy - silky - elegant. A beautiful and round Bordeaux.
Other vintage available:
- Nose: crispy. Aromas of black cherry, blueberry, coffee and black pepper with a hint of violet.
- Palate: round and perfumed.
Tasting date: June 2021

- Nose: generous and open. Vanilla notes which black fruits, sweet spices and a hint of liquorice and coffee.
- Palate: full-bodied with fine tanins.
Tasting date: November 2020
OUR OPINION: fruity - full-bodied. The 2018 vintage of the Clos Plince is more robust than the previous one, I advise to let it age a little more in the cellar, failing that to decant it a few hours before serving.
Limited quantities, only 1200 bottles produced by the estate.
A truly delicious and delicate wine, with a very fresh and crunchy nose. The aromas of black and red fruits mix with pleasant spicy notes. The mouth is supple, dense. Very beautiful fruit, beautiful texture, this vintage is a success!
Other vintage available:
- Nose: intensely perfumed. Notes of menthol, blackberry, raspberry, licorice, dark chocolate.
- Palate: supple with silky tanins.
OUR OPINION: fruity - full-bodied. A great wine of Pomerol.
