The Crozes-Hermitage vineyard is the most southern of the Northern Rhône vineyards. The first traces of vine growing date back to the Roman occupation, around 100 BC.
To the north, it borders the Hermitage designation and benefits from a geomorphology that is almost identical to the Hermitage one's. Further south, the territory becomes flatter and is made up of small pebbles resulting from the Alpine massifs erosion.
These geological nuances are reflected in the wines, which in the south are pleasantly aromatic and have a supple structure, whereas in the north, the structure is more assertive and gives the northern vintages a great cellar potential.
