The main source of income for the Vaucluse department is the vine, thanks to an ancestral know-how adn the production of wines renowned for their aromatic variety. The warm climate and the soil optimal drainage favour the production of high quality grapes.
The Vaucluse IGP designation also allows for a wider range of grape varieties, such as Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Marselan, Chardonnay, Roussanne and Viognier.
