The Pouilly-sur-Loire vineyard is located on the right bank of the Loire and faces Sancerre's vineyard, located on the left bank of the river.
Since 1923, the Pouilly-sur-Loire designation has been reserved for white wines made from the white Chasselas grape variety, which was widely grown until the end of the 18th century. Although it was mainly used to produce table grapes, the damaged grapes were used to make wine.
Very sensitive to frost, coulure and cryptogamic diseases, the Chasselas was abandoned in favour of the white Sauvignon. Today, only a few hectares of Chasselas are cultivated, producing fresh, easy-drinking, floral and rather round wines.
- Nose: very fresh and delicate. Notes of white pepper, coriander with a touch of anise and licorice.
- Palate: soft and tasty.
Tasting date: May 2021
OUR OPINION: nice wine of Chasselas, original and extremely seductive by its minerality and its finesse!
