In the heart of the "purple Perigord", whose name derives from the autumnal colors of the vine leaves, and which has become famous for its medieval castles and truffles, hides a jewel of the wine world: Château Thénac, a property of more than 200 hectares, located in the Thenac village. The latter was built on the ruins of a Benedictine priory dating from the 12th century, around which the monks created the current vineyard.
Since 2012, a hudge work has been done in order to identify the best soils and to developp new winemaking and ageing methods. The result is to the height of the efforts: the wines produced are of rare elegance, the "Château Thénac" range are vinified the spirit of the Bordeaux Grands Crus, while the cuvées "Fleur de Thénac" have a more modern style, with softness and aromatic finesse.
Beautiful and intense aromas of honey, nuts, bitter orange peel, quince paste and acacia flowers. The palate, well-balanced, long, tasty and complex, stretches into a salivating orange peel finish: an exquisite sweet wine.
