Olivier TECHER is the son of Claire LAVAL and Dominique TECHER, both of them are the owners of the Château Gombaude Guillot in Pomerol since 1983. After working in the catering, Olivier joined the family domain in 2010 and began practicing the wine-making with his mother’s help, with finally the creation of its own cuvée.
Wishing to promote other Bordeaux terroirs than Pomerol, some terroirs often underestimated, Olivier creates, in 2016, the Satellite Wines company and decides to work with two wine-growers he knows very well, in order to produce two original cuvées: a white "Satellite" wine, with the AOP Entre-Deux-Mers and a red "Satellite" wine with the AOP Côtes-de-Bordeaux (Castillon). The white wine is made according to the principles of the biodynamy (Certification Demeter) and the red wine according to the principles of the Organic farming. The two partners and wine growers produce themselves the cuvées "Satellite", from the culture of grapes, until the wine-making and the bottling that takes place on the estates. Olivier TECHER is acting during the blending phase for the white wines, and also during the wine-making phase for the red wines, in order to create the cuvées as he imagines them, with their own identities.
Bottles are produced in limited quantities: 2400 for the white wine, and 4700 for the red wine. The cooperation between our three wine-growers is a real success: wines are fresh and delightfully fruity. Simply pleasure.
After a first slightly toasted and very "sauvignonné" nose, where one easily recognizes the aromas of gooseberries and very ripe red tomato, the wine evolves towards notes of citrus, white peaches, and lychees. On the palate, the juice is fresh, lemony and tasty. A great success, a vintage more expressive than the 2016 and more "sauvignon-like" than the 2015.
