The Côte de Nuits combines exceptional conditions that are found in few other places: the Jura's erosion has given rise to very diverse and high quality soils, and the climate, both ideal and difficult, allows for the acquisition of an optimal aromatic structure from a grape variety that is nevertheless capricious and sensitive. Finally, the know-how of the winegrowers who have the vine and the wine "in their blood" plays a primordial role in the final result.
If the notion of terroir is undisputed, the philosophy of each winemaker also influences the final product: the latter can accentuate the characteristics of the terroir during the vinification and the maturation.
