Stricter than the Bergerac designation in terms of authorized grape varieties, minimum alcohol content and maximum yield, the Côtes de Bergerac designation offers red wines with a more evolved bouquet and a firmer structure than the Bergerac's, giving them a better aptitude for cellar ageing. The white wines are essentially "sweet" wines, the Atlantic influences brought by the Dordogne allowing overripe harvests by favoring the development of the Botrytis cinerea on the grapes.
Beautiful and intense aromas of honey, nuts, bitter orange peel, quince paste and acacia flowers. The palate, well-balanced, long, tasty and complex, stretches into a salivating orange peel finish: an exquisite sweet wine.
