LOCATION: classified Grand Cru lieu-dit Florimont. Dating back to medieval times, the name "flowering mount" evokes the month of March, when the hill was adorned with a carpet of flowers. Geographically remarkable, this promontory is an outlier hill preserved during the collapse of the Upper Rhine Graben, resting on a sedimentary layering of inestimable value.
EXPOSURE: East. Gently sloping, between 225 and 290 meters in altitude.
TERROIR : stony surface soil (which encourages water infiltration and forces the vines to root deeply), resting on a deep clay-limestone base dating from the BAJOCIAN (Middle Jurassic) and MUSCHELKALK (Middle Triassic) periods.
The surface clays act like a sponge, retaining water in a regulated manner. This is the key: even during very dry summers, the vine does not suffer from severe water stress, allowing for highly concentrated grapes. The underlying limestone base provides the root system with the essential minerals it requires.
On this terroir, Pinot Gris and Gewurztraminer grape varieties yield broad, ample, and full-bodied wines with a rich, oily texture.

"What a terroir! While the Riesling is already exceptional, the Pinot Gris offers us a wine of immeasurable generosity: notes of candied fruits, quince paste, and honey, with a round and flavourful texture, and a long finish completely free of heaviness. Superb!"
