Wine merchant by passion

A brief history...

VignArtea, e-commerce website for wines and champagnes, was launched in 2015. Behind this window, there is one person: me!

I was born in Alsace. Throughout my childhood, Riesling, Pinot Noir, Jura and Burgundy wines accompanied family meals.
Wine has always fascinated me; concealed in its generously shaped bottle, it makes you dream even before you drink it, as Emile PEYNAUD - nicknamed the ‘father of modern oenology’ and considered to be the man who revolutionised winemaking techniques in the second half of the 20th century - so aptly put it.

Warm and flavoursome, wine is able to sublimate a meal, and experience has shown me that it's not necessarily the most famous vintages that bring the greatest joy.

I like to renew myself and discover new estates, all designations included, among winemakers that are often discreet but closely followed by lovers of fine wines.
I believe that my role as a wine merchant is above all to help you discover new talent, rather than simply offering the same wines tacclaimed by the press that can be found on every shelf in so-called specialist shops... It's a long and sometimes costly quest, fraught with disappointment, but it's always a fruitful one in the end: now's the time to savour the find of the month and share my favourite with you!

A single point of contact for all your requests

I will be your sole point of contact:

  • to meet your needs and help you make the right choices

  • to track your parcel or answer any questions about its delivery

  • to discuss a particular cuvée and receive your opinions and impressions

I am at your disposal for any information you may require by telephone, SMS or e-mail.
And don't hesitate to leave me a message if I am out, as I sometimes can't answer the phone at the time of wine deliveries or packages collections.

I write and publish regular newsletters to keep you up to date with new estates, new vintages, and also to give you a wide range of information about wine, winemaking, trends and so on.

You can subscribe without fear when you create your account, you won't be flooded with newsletters, I'm not a robot!

A rigorous selection of wines and champagnes

I'm not a fan of the fads, trends and marketing novelties that spring up in the world of wine. What I look for above all - and without any preconceptions - are wines of quality, well-balanced and with an identity, in which the winemaker's talent is brilliantly expressed; wines that thrill you and whose creator's touch can be immediately detected!

To do this, I work directly with the estates - without any intermediaries - to get a better idea of their working philosophy and to give priority to quality over quantity of references, like a small local shop would do.

I taste each new vintage so that I have a very precise idea of the wine's aromatic profile and style - which can vary greatly from one year to the next.
This is the sine qua non condition for being able to guide you according to your tastes!

The tasting date is also indicated in the wine data sheets, as the flavours will evolve over time and nuance the initial tasting assessments.

A certified provenance and origin of the wines

I buy my wines exclusively direct from the producers; never through auctions or by buying them from private cellars...

This enables me to ensure the bottle's traceability and to know exactly the conditions under which they have been delivered to me, as I generally schedule my supplies between autumn and spring, when the weather is most favourable for transporting the wine.

Afterwards, the wines are carefully stored in a semi-underground cellar offering perfect storage conditions for optimal conservation; the wines offered on the website are therefore all immediately available and can be delivered within 24 hours for France and 2-4 days in Europe!
