TERROIR: soil made up of a mosaic of geological layers from the MIDDLE AND UPPER TRIASSIC era, composed of clayey shelly sandstone, dolomitic marls, and sandy marls from the LOWER AND MIDDLE MUSCHELKALK, followed by crinoidal limestones and ceratitid limestones from the UPPER MUSCHELKALK (-233 to -230 Ma), and finally grey marl banks from the LOWER KEUPER.
