OUR OPINION: silky and aromatic, this vintage offers us a pleasant bouquet of very ripe fruit, it's very very tasty!
The Saint-Joseph red wine is a blend of Syrah coming from different plots and different terroirs. The vines are around 40 years old and are planted on the hillsides of Tournon-sur-Rhône. Their yield is about 40 hl / ha.
The plots selected for the Saint-Joseph cuvée are spread over four localities:
The grapes are harvested manually and are destemmed at 70% when they arrive at the winery. The alcoholic fermentation takes place in open vats and, twice a day, the marc cap which forms on the must surface is mixed with the juice by pumping over or punching down. The maceration lasts two to three weeks.
The must is then aged in 228 liter and 600 liter oak barrels for one year. The racking and wine bottling is done during the month of December.
