New product
This elegant 2013 vintage reveals a nose with first petroleum aromas, which opens gradually on complex aromas of lemon, mandarin, candied orange and white peach. The palate is lively, mineral and lemony. The finish has a fine aromatic persistance and stretches on delicate notes of quinces. A success.
This wine comes from a 2.5 ha plot located on the place called "Kirchberg de Ribeauvillé", a Grand Cru classified terroir. Exposed south / south-west, on a steep slope, the Riesling vines benefit from a maximum sunshine ensuring a perfect maturation.
The clay-sandstone soil gives the wine density and a good tension, and the vine expresses all its potential in a tonic juice with intense notes of mandarin and orange.
At the Jean Sipp domain, the harvest is manual, the grapes are pressed in pneumatic press for 8 hours, followed by a slow fermentation for about six weeks. The must is then aged on fine lees oak in large casks for 8 to 10 months depending on the vintages.
