PIEDLONG 2020 - Red Wine (Domaine du Vieux Télégraphe)

AGE OF VINES: old 70-year-old Grenache and 50-year-old Mourvèdre vines.

LOCATION: union of two iconic lieux-dits peaking at 129 metres above sea level: Piedlong for Grenache and Pignan for Mourvèdre.

SOIL:

• The Piedlong sector (9 hectares) occupies the highest terrace in the appellation, anchored on PLIOCENE sandy-clay deposits overlying the molassic sandstones of Carpentras (MIOCENE).
  
  
• The Pignan parcel (2 hectares), located just to the east, rests directly on molassic sandstones and clayey sands from the MIDDLE MIOCENE epoch, dating back 13 million years.
