The nose is flattering, tasty, and delivers delicate aromas of cherries, red fruits, and licorice. The palate has a lot of fruits, a beautiful structure and is well-balanced.
Habit rouge is a single varietal wine made exclusively from old merlot vines, some of them reach the noble age of 90 years. The Merlot vines, planted in 1924 and 1946 are located on the parcels of the Clos de l'Eglise, Moulin and Caillou.
Yields are low, about 25hl / ha.
As for the other vintages, the grapes are not crushed and are slowly macerated. The ageing is done in oak barrels of one or two wines for 18 months.
Habit Rouge needs a breath to express all its potential, do not hesitate to open it an hour before the service.
