TERROIR

The vines are located on the plot La Roquète which is contiguous to the parcels Pignan and Piedlong and which offers a soil of sand and Carpentras sandstone dating from the Middle Miocene (-13 million years).

WINEMAKING & WINEGROWING

The CLOS ROQUÈTE white wine, as for PIEDLONG, was formerly produced by the Domaine de la Roquète, that the Brunier family bought in 1986 before finally merging with the Domaine du Vieux Télégraphe in 2017. This single plot cuvée is the blend in same proportion of roussane, clairette, and grenache blanc (1/3 of each variety).

The vines are cultivated in accordance with the sustainable viticulture rules: use of organic manure and traditional ploughing, green harvest and leaf removal during the summer. The treatments applied in the vineyard are those authorized in Organic Farming.

The grapes are harvested manually, sorted twice in the vineyard and a third time in the cellar. The pressing takes place in pneumatic press ensuring a smooth and regular pressure on the grapes.
After settling, the fermentation takes place in barrels and demi-muids followed by 10 months lees ageing in the same containers.

The wine has a tasty and sweet profile, more fruity than floral, and a great elegance.
