Grenache (60%), Syrah (40%)
The nose is still discreet and slightly reductive at the opening, yet it gradually reveals aromas of strawberries, raspberries and cinnamon with a hint of spices. In the palate, the juice is supple, the tannins are fine but present. Need to be matured one or two extra-years in the cellar.

The Cuvée Emma is part of the estate's parcels selections. It is made from a blend of Grenache noir and Syrah : those almost fifty-year-old vines are planted on the same plot.
TERROIR
The soils that make up the Gallety estate terroir are composed, at the Bois des Baraques foot, of blue marls and sandy clays dating from the Pliocene and covered, lower down, with coarse alluvium deposited during the Rhone terraces construction in the Quaternary, at the moment of the last glaciations.
These soils tell the Mediterranean story, when the latter dries up in the Miocene, 7 million years ago : a drying up that will last nearly two million years and due to the gradual closure of Gibraltar Strait, which isolated the Mediterranean from the Atlantic Ocean, and deprived it of any water supply. In the Pliocene, 5 million years ago, the Mediterranean will fill up again and suddenly, locally depositing these famous blue marls and sandy clays.
Quaternary alluvium will come to cover it with the Rhone terraces construction during the last ice age that happened two million years ago.
WINEGROWING & WINEMAKING
The vines that produce the grapes used to make the Emma cuvée offer yields limited to 30 hl/ha, and the blend is made up of 60% of Grenache and 40% of Syrah.
Due to the complantation, the Grenache and Syrah grapes are harvested together and manually in boxes to preserve the fruit integrity.
They are also vinified together in concrete vats with a maceration of about 20 days. The alcoholic and malolactic fermentations take place in the presence of native yeasts and bacteria. The must is then drawn off and transferred to old oak barrels for an 18 months aging.
The wine is neither fined nor filtered, and the sulphites doses used during the vinification are limited to the strict minimum.
The bottle is sealed by a DIAM® cork stopper which guarantees the absence of any wine contamination by the TCA. (or cork taste)
In his youth, we recommend decanting it 1 hour before serving.
