GRAPE VARIETY: Syrah (100%)
FARMING: Organic Farming and Agroforestry
AGEING: 18 months in enamelled vats.
ALCOHOL CONTENT: 13.5%

AGE OF VINES: 50 years.
LOCATION: the "lieux-dits" Saint-Jean and Pié-Conieu, situated at an altitude of 350-400 metres.
EXPOSURE: South / South-East. Morning light is captured without the burning heat of late afternoon. Altitude acts as a natural air conditioner: cool nights slow down grape ripening, preserving fresh fruit aromas and a vibrant acidity, characteristic of cool-climate Syrah (Northern Rhone style).
TERROIR : soils dating from the STAMPIAN or RUPELIAN (Lower Oligocene) with alternating limestone and so-called Sainte-Marguerite marls. Small limestone pebbles on the surface help with drainage and reflect light onto the clusters.
HARVEST: manual.
YIELD: 15 hl/ha.
SORTING: in the vineyard and at the cellar.
WINEMAKING: total destemming, with 1/4 of the ripest stems added back. Everything is vatted for a 20-day maceration during which fermentations take place.
AGEING: 18 months in enamelled vats.
BOTTLING: after light filtration.
CORK: DIAM®10 cork, specifically designed to ensure the absence of any cork taint, using cork flowers previously cleared of the molecules responsible for this aromatic deviation.
"There is no doubt, this is a Syrah from clayey terroir; clay tends to slightly close the wines. The aromas are typical of a cool climate, with notes of peat and cold tobacco blending with dark fruit and chocolate scents. Do not hesitate to decant it an hour before tasting. It should reach its peak between 2028 and 2035!"
