PLANTING DATE: 1965.
LOCATION: 1er Cru plot Les Champs-Gains. Altitude: 250 meters.

GEOLOGY: soil formed from reddish-brown clayey or clay-silty colluvium, containing abundant limestone debris that masks the JURASSIC limestone substrate. This debris results from the weathering and disintegration of the substrate, as well as limestone fragments shattered by freeze-thaw cycles that have moved downslope onto this plot through gravity or runoff. In these deep, rich soils, the grapes always reach maturity earlier than those planted in the neighboring Caillerets plot.
HARVEST: Manual.
YIELD: N/A.
SORTING: In the vineyard and at the winery.
WINEMAKING: 50% de-stemming. No crushing. Maceration lasts 24 days in vats. Fermentation with indigenous yeasts, followed by the blending of free-run and press juices after pressing the fermented must.
AGING: 18 months in 350-liter barrels (30% new oak).
BOTTLING: February 2025, without fining or filtration.
CORK: Natural cork.
"I haven't yet had the chance to taste the 2023 vintage, but I've discussed it with Sylvain MOREY, who considers this vintage to be excellent, balanced, and fresh. The harvest was very harmonious, and this 1er Cru presents a very approachable and refined profile, offering a very faithful expression of this terroir."
