Terroir

EXPOSURE: South-West.

SOIL: soil formed over 400 million years ago, composed of two-mica granite (white and black mica) appearing as finger-like intrusions amid the gneiss of Le Landreau. This acidic rock, born from the cooling of magma, is particularly rich in silica and gives rise to age-worthy Muscadet wines.

GRANITE is therefore a wine best left to age in the cellar so it can gently develop its tertiary aromas over time.

Viticulture & Vinification

HARVEST: manual / hand-picked.

YIELD: 35 hl/ha.

SORTING: N/A.

VINIFICATION: gentle pneumatic pressing without settling of the must. Fermentation in vats using indigenous yeasts.

AGEING: a few months on fine lees in underground cellar tanks. The official label mention "sur lies" does not appear on the bottle, as displaying it mandates a bottling window strictly between March 1st and November 30th of the year following harvest—a constraint the estate chooses not to follow.

BOTTLING: unfined. Light filtration through diatomaceous earth prior to bottling.

CORK: natural cork.

Sommelier's Note

"This Muscadet is a beautiful model of balance and freshness; the nose is delicate and creamy, with citrus notes of lemon and grapefruit combining accurately with the sweetness of almond and subtle herbal accents. The palate is round, juicy, and thirst-quenching; a remarkably crafted cuvée that will benefit from breathing a few minutes in a decanter in its youth to unleash all its charm!"
